EGG HARBOR, WI - August 11, 2008— Liberty Square,
Egg Harbor’s New England Style dining, shopping,
entertainment and art center, located at 7755 Hwy 42,
will host a two day four-star Artisan
Jewelry Trunk Show on Saturday August 23rd
and Sunday August 24th . This two day show begins at
10:30 a.m. Saturday and runs until 4:30 p.m. and begins
again on Sunday at 10:30
a.m. and runs until noon. A free wine tasting and selected
appetizers will be served from 2:30 p.m. until the end
of the show on Saturday. There will also be live piano
music at selected times on both days. The shows will
be held in Liberty Square’s Board
Room and Art
and Home Décor Center.
The work of four artisan
jewelers that will be on display are Carol
Motty, Sarah Mann,
Polly Daeger and Michael
Ann Carley.

Motty's

Carol Motty, a well known New
York artist who died in 1997 has had her jewelry featured
on the covers of Vogue, Glamour, Women's Wear Daily,
New York Magazine and other well known publications.
Motty's jewelry is part of such diversified collections
as those belonging to Katherine Deneuve, Lauren Hutton,
and Elton John. Her work has been shown at art galleries
and museums around the world. Robert Lee Morris famous
artist and collector once said about Motty's jewelry,
"Carol Motty sets an example for all artists, she
pushes her material constantly and her explorations
are continuous, it is this kind of energy and devotion
to one's work that gives our culture its heroes."

Amanda DeWitt, Liberty Square's retail manager, who
is herself an artisan jeweler and silversmith said the
two day trunk show at Liberty Square is worth visiting
if only to see the work of this internationally acclaimed
artist. "Motty's work has been an inspiration to
many aspiring artisan jewelers, throughout the world."
Michael Ann Carley is
a regular exhibitor at Liberty Square. She obtained
a Master's of Fine Arts Degree at The University of
Wisconsin-Milwaukee where she was an art curator. The
other two artists whose work will be featured at the
trunk show on August 23 and 24 are Sarah Mann and Polly
Daeger both of Milwaukee.
Representing the work of Carol Motty, Sarah Mann and Polly Daeger will be Linda Richman. In 1990, Richman opened a jewelry gallery which was located in the Katie Gingrass Gallery in Milwaukee, where she represented national and international award winning jewelry artists. Richman was juried into the SOFA Show (Sculpture Objects and Functional Art) in Chicago through the 1990's. After selling her jewelry gallery in 1999 Richman now holds private jewelry shows in Milwaukee and Miami.
The show is open to the public and is intended to provide
a wide selection of artisan jewelry for display and
for sale and will give visitors a chance to learn about
the jewelry from the artists and their representatives.
