After dinner, you’ll enjoy listening to music
performed by vocal artist Lauren Carley. Ms. Carley
delighted audiences at Liberty Square last summer, and
we are very pleased to welcome her back to The Board
Room this year. She will appear with pianist Chris Salerno,
a member of the jazz faculty of the University of Wisconsin
Green Bay and Ms. Carley’s frequent musical collaborator.
For the Bravissima series, Ms. Carley will present a
special repertoire of Italian music ranging from folk
songs, jazz, movie themes and light opera to popular
standards from the 1950s made famous by such Italian-American
artists as Dean Martin, Vic Damone and Connie Francis.
Ms. Carley, a renowned crossover artist and vocalist,
has performed in cabarets, theatres and performance
spaces throughout America. She currently divides her
time between a very active concert and performance schedule,
teaching music classes at both San Francisco State and
the University of California-Berkeley and leading two
Bay-area choral groups. Her solo CD, “Hooked on
Weill,” features original arrangements of the
music of Kurt Weill.
